The 100 Day Project 2023 – Systems and Sharing
There’s a reason that the 100 Day Project is in its 10th year – it’s effective, habit building and has developed a great community around it.
Even if you’re like me and don’t stringently stick to the 100 consecutive days, it still makes a massive contribution to building your consistency and your abilities in the areas that you are focusing on.
My theme for this year’s 100 Day Project is “Systems and Sharing”. I’ll have to get in creating work in there too but I really want to drive forward the systems and sharing concept to build my practice up in those areas.
Systems:
For me, systems is about creating some structure and ways of doing things effectively (and efficiently) so it takes some of the thinking out of it.
There are 3 main areas:
Physical systems such as storage and photography set up
Digital systems such as saving my photos and videos in an organised manner
Tracking systems such as for my expenses, sales (whenever I delve into that area) and details of my artwork
Sharing:
This refers to how I’ll share my artwork. I want to try out different formats (blogging, audio, video, photographs) and different platforms to see what works best for me.
For this, I’ll be asking myself the following questions:
Who? Who am I targeting? Who am I as an artist?
What? What is my message? What am I sharing? What’s the call to action?
When? When will I share it? Time of day? Time of year?
Where? Where will I share it – what platforms?
Why? Why am I sharing this? Is it to inform / entertain / educate?
How? How will I share it – what format? Blog? Video? Photo? Reel? Audio? How often will I share?
These questions can be diluted down again and again and really dug into.
The aim is to create some form of pattern for sharing; to see where content can be re-purposed (e.g. creating audio from a blog post or vice versa) and to establish what content is working best and what platforms I like to use.
I invite you to join me in my journey and hopefully you’ll be able to apply some of my learnings to your own journey. Check the project out here: https://www.the100dayproject.org for more details!
