Unlock your content’s creative superpower through re-purposing
Content creation - love it or loathe it, it’s here to stay if you are operating within the online world. Attracting and engaging with your audience in a deeper manner will put you in the forefront of their minds when they think about artists that they enjoy. it is also going to be an essential element of your branding and marketing strategies.
Optimising how you use your content is essential for busy creatives, especially if it’s not a favoured aspect of your creative practice. In previous blogs, I discussed the power of scheduling your content and the benefits of batching your content creation.
Re-purposing your content takes this one step further by making your content work even harder for you. Re-purposing content means that you use it over multiple channels or in multiple ways.
So, for example, I can re-purpose this article in the following ways:
Blog post created
Short-form video - a 60 second brief explanation about what repurposing is
Longer-form video - I can go on video and talk through the points if the blog (verbatim or talk through it). The video could be with me talking to camera, or I could use a process of me painting and talk over if I don't want to be on video
I could further repurpose this by using the audio on a podcast platform
These bulletpoints could be put together in a chart or text-based photos for sharing as a carosol on Instagram for example
You can take one topic and really stretch out how you use it.
Benefits -
- it gives you content to use across multiple channels
- you can meet the audience where they are - the social media channel that you're sharing on or podcast platform or your website
- you can share in bite-sized pieces or longer, more in-depth content
With some planning and organisation you can use the concept of repurposing your content to really ease your content creation schedule and keep it interesting.
Ensuring the content you make and the topics you discuss work harder for you makes absolute sense for any business owner - especially if you don't get a lot of enjoyment out of content creation.
If you have any hints about how you repurpose content, please share in the comments!!
